Recycling Program Needed

Associated Student President, Peter Cornett, is in the early stages of of constructing a recycling program with the city that can create an income for Fullerton College.

Surprisingly, Fullerton College does not have a recycling program, but Cornett will change that with the vote of the Associated Student Committee after their upcoming election on September 16th and 17th.

"Recycling is something that needs to be passed," Cornett said.

The two opinions that Cornett has to execute this recycling program will be to either have the students take the recycling to a material recovery facility or an outside company can come and do the job.

A minor predicament with having an outside company take the recycling is that the school will have to pay the company which would only eliminate any money that would come back from the program.

If the program is set up for the students to take the recycling, then the program will generate money that will come back to the school.

The only catch for a program set up with students is that it sill need an ongoing participation from students and future students or the program would most likely be dropped.

When the program goes through, there will be clearly marked recycling bins placed throughout campus for students to utilize.

Remember the point of this program is to recycle, so support a recycling program for Fullerton College.
