Americans have been ripped off. Not only was Barack Obama's surge for the Olympics a complete waste of time and our money, but we didn't even win.
Obama took a big risk going to Copenhagen on American dimes. Obama willing to spend a significant amount of money on this was as big of a waste as Detroit Lion fans buying game tickets.
Not only does Chicago lack any ideal places for any type of event, but bringing the Olympics here would not make us money.
It would most likely put Chicago in as much debt as California with all the improvements they would have to do to their city to make it suitable for viewing.
This country is in enough of a stir trying to bring the automobile industry and the economy into the black.
Obama should be focusing on getting his image back and getting people to trust him again and see him as someone who can lead this country.
With his current support ratings plummeting from the tangled web he calls a health care reform it shocks me to see him caring about anything other then that right now.
How can he be thinking about a sporting event, no matter how amazingly important it has become to strengthening international relations?
Even though so-called experts are saying that the recession is over, the people who it has really effected are still feeling its presences. With unemployment as high as its been in a long time and still growing I don't see much relief insight.
Obama needs to worry about the more demanding problems here in America and not how he can get us back in the spotlight.
