Fullerton students seeking immunization from the flu are being sent away as the school ran empty on their allotted supplies.
Although the Health Center was able to give out the needed dosage of the flu shot to about 170 students, officials have announced that no more are being offered.
"We were supposed to get another 250 but its not coming. Throughout the state there has been difficulty with health centers getting the flu vaccine," said Chris Kiger, director of health services.
While FC no longer has the vaccine available, three other locations are offering a free one day event. On Oct. 30 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, COX Communications in Rancho Santa Margarita, and Santa Ana College will be open as points of distribution for the general public to immuninize.
Kiger stated that if students are not able to attend on that day, the website findaflushot.com can assist in finding other locations. This source allows people to type in a zip code and find local pharmacies which are giving out the shot.
"We were lucky to get what we got and there is really no way to predict if we're actually going to get the remainder of our order," Kiger said.
