It's been nearly six months since the last Hard event, the last being Hard Haunted Mansion, so its no wonder that Hard 13 at Club Nokia sold out completely in its 11th hour this past Saturday. The main attractions of the night included Los Angeles own Destructo along with some of the best and brightest DJ's from the UK: Boy 8 Bit, Jack Beats and Fake Blood.

The show promptly opened at 8 p.m. and with no problems, unlike the many other events this year, which had lines that seemed like they were miles long.

The first DJ to perform was Destructo, playing a surprisingly awesome elecrto set that had the crowd pulsating with the constant booming bass that poured out of the subwoofers. At one point it felt like the dance floor was going to collapse from the constant movement. The track that absolutely brought the house down was a remix of Major Lazers "Pon Di Floor."  After Destructo had the crowd pumped for the rest of the night, Boy 8 Bit appeared on stage ready to show LA how the UK rolls.

8 Bit started his set right after Destructo and played a funkie mix of music that got the house moving and grooving for a straight hour. Some of the songs he played include "Baltic Pine," which sounds like a chiming bell from hell and "Turbo (Joker of the Scene Remix.)"

Out of the many DJs performing this night, no other was more anticipated than Jack Beats. The UK electro fiends brought one of the best performances of the night, mashing the fidgity bass lines of Dub Step with the catchiness of electro.

One of the best tracks JB performed was by far the remix of Passion Pit's "Little Secrets" which mixed the anthem-like singing of front man Michael Anelakos with the dirtiest, grimy bass line to ever hit Club Nokia. After finishing up there amazing set, Fake Blood took to the stage ready to spill the blood on the dance floor, but on the fourth floor was a unnamed special guest getting ready to surprise the crowd

Off in a corner of the Bass Chamber, on a fold out table was none other than Deadmau5. Along with DM5 was Steve Duda of BSOD fame and Tommy Lee from Motley Crew.

DM5 opened with the typical pounding bass line he's become known for and gradually moved into "Better Sounding On Drugs" turning the crowd into a pack of squirming sardines. Among the many other songs played were "The Reward is Cheese," "More Ghost and Stuff" and finally "Strobe" closing out the night with a bang. Down below the Bass Chamber, Fake Blood was already starting his set.

At the main stage Fake Blood had already started  his mind blowing set, spinning the turn tables like a mad man as the sold out crowd moved in unison to the pounding beat. Just like Jack Beats, Fake Blood destroyed Club Nokia playing one hard set that included a handful of great songs like "I Think I Like it" and a remix of Little Boots "Stuck on Repeat." To close out the night FB played his hit "Mars" turning the sea of people into a violent current of bobbing heads and arms.

Los Angeles has live events every weekend, wither it be an underground show or mainstream. Hard 13 brought the best of both worlds to the small Club Nokia, making this one of the craziest shows in memory. Its not every day that one of the worlds top DJ's spins at a small club and this is why Hard will go down as one of the best promoters in the area.

Deadmau5 and many other DJ's are scheduled to play the three-day-long Coachella Music and Arts Festival in April, make sure to catch them there.
