The 2008 Fall semester A.S. Executive Board members are looking forward to a successful semester. President-elect Rajan Vaidya was originally elected vice president. Vaida is succeeding former president-elect Marita Soler, who is transferring to University of California, Santa Barbara in the Fall. Jovan Maxwell was appointed as A.S. Vice President Tuesday to succeed Vaida without sufficient time to profile him. Ethan Morse will remain student trustee. Next semester's A.S. Treasurer, Christine An, and A.S. Recorder, Neil Patel, will join Inter-Club Council President-elect Adrian Boluarte Chong as A.S. officers. Get to know who the Associated Students Executive Board members are.

President Rajan Vaidya

A.S. President-elect Rajan Vaida knows enough magic tricks to break the ice at any party. His father owned a magic shop and taught Vaida some magic tricks that ended up working in his favor.

"The simplest little tricks amuse people," Vaida said. Although Vaida is excited about his new position he is a bit nervous.

Vaida, 18, was born and raised in Anaheim. He has a younger sister who attends high school and looks up to him. In high school he played basketball, participated in track and was a member of the Indian Club.

He chose to attend Fullerton College because he wanted the community college experience. Vaida hopes to transfer to University of California Santa Cruz, UC Los Angeles or UC San Diego. He will major in chemistry and pre-pharmacy. He plans to become a pharmacist because he has always been fascinated by the effects of medicine on the body.

"I was that one weird kid that liked to take medicine," Vaida said. He currently works at a hospital as a pharmacy technician. Vaida is looking forward to bring more student involvement to FC. He wants to make FC "more of a college and less of a transition," Vaida said.

Vaida has a busy summer coming up; he plans to take a couple of summer courses while he sharpens his Robert's Rules of Order for formal procedure on meetings.

"I really want all of the students to get involved somehow," Vaida said.

Student Trustee Ethan Morse

A.S. President Ethan Morse will serve as student trustee in the fall semester. Morse believes he has accomplished a handful this year as president.

Getting the Student Center up and running was something high on his agenda.

Although Morse is always on the go he is looking forward for that time to "focus on more issues that affect the student body and speak out about those issues," he said.

Morse moved to the West from New York in hopes of one day becoming a filmmaker and actor. He plans to transfer to USC by fall 2009. He will major in communication and film.

He is already working on video projects with friends, and is in the making of a feature film that may be done sometime next year.

Morse hosts a radio show Saturday nights on 107.9 KWAVE FM, where he enjoys his work. He is also a board operator and ground producer for Commander Chuck Street during mornings on 102.7 KIIS FM.

Treasurer Christine An

Future businesswoman Christine An, 21, anticipates her position in the fall as A.S. treasurer.

An grew up in Korea and has been at FC for three semesters. She hopes to transfer to UC Berkeley, or UC Los Angeles to major in business.

She enjoys meeting and interacting with new people. An is looking toward the managing aspects of the treasurer position and dreams of becoming CEO of a major company one day.

Since An's arrival at FC she has been involved in student affairs and is currently president of the Environmental Protection Association club on campus and an active member of Alpha Gamma Sigma.

Although she looks forward to rest this summer she still plans to take some summer school courses.

She is anxious about next semester and her position as treasurer.

"There will be great activities that all students can be involved in," An said.

Recorder Neil Patel

Neil Patel, 18, looks forward to serving as A.S. recorder for next semester. He is a finance major and hopes to transfer to USC by fall 2009. Patel has always been interested in stocks and investments.

Patel is glad to have chosen FC because many of the staff members make it an enjoyable place to attend.

Because Patel really enjoys coming to FC he really wants to help make it a better experience for every student. "I plan to bring new ideas to help make Fullerton College better for the students," Patel said.

Patel grew up in Buena Park and has been involved with student government since high school. He was also part of the golf team. Patel is a major sports fan and is a Raiders fan and Lakers fan.

Patel has plans for school this summer and hanging out with friends. He is preparing himself by getting to know people on campus and learning as much as he can about many of the different committees he is in.

Adrian Boluarte Chong Inter-Club Council President

A.S. Inter-Club Council President-elect Adrian Boluarte Chong is looking forward to making a difference at FC.

Chong was born and raised in Lima, Peru to a Peruvian father and Chinese mother. He attended Catholic Peruvian-Chinese School.

Chong's life in Peru was different from the one he leads today in Fullerton. He used to be part of a performance group called La Tarumba. It was a group that incorporated theater, music and circus. He compared it to something like Cirque do Soleil. "I know how to juggle, fire-dance and do tightrope walking too," Chong said.

Apart from having many talents, he has plenty of things planned for next semester as ICC president.

"I want to improve some things around school and raise awareness about different issues that affect not only students but the world too," Chong said.
